Cat People vs. Dog People

Time to put the "cat people versus dog people" myth to rest. Someone is either a cat or a dog person, based on what they like about cats and dislike about dogs, or vice versa, according to a common belief. But a new study from Ball State University suggests these preferences are stereotypes. When searching for a pet, instead of wanting a cat because they are "independent and mysterious" or a dog because they are "loyal and trustworthy", try to match a pet's personality traits (cat or dog) with your own. This method is similar to the one used in match-making services.
