Catwoman

Even if you don't read comic books, you know Catwoman. A new article from NPR highlights the anti-heroine's rise to fame from her debut in Batman No. 1 in 1940. Actress Julie Newmar (pictured) introduced the world to a feminine and determined version during the TV series Batman in the 1960s. Since then, other talented and remarkable actresses tried the cat's claws on for size - such as Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfieffer, and Halle Berry.
