On Thursday, a story about an Iowa town's feral cat woes caught international media attention. Feral cat controversy is common but the solution proposed by the mayor of Randolph, Iowa wasn't. Mayor Vance Trively proposed a $5 bounty be awarded to any person who turned in a feral cat. Feral cats that weren't claimed would be euthanized. But under the glare of the public's attention, the proposal was repealed. Volunteer groups will aide the town in a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program.
