Pete the Cat

Artist-in-the-making James left his full time job in 1997 to pursue artistic dreams, and shortly after, adopted a little black cat from a shelter. He named the cat Pete and created paintings of his furry friend in 1999. Fast forward to today and a new book for children--Pete the Cat--is on bookstore shelves. You can browse prints of Pete on the artist's website.

What an excellent blog theme! I have a little black cat on my lap as I type, "Merry", adopted from the Humane Society a year ago. Quite the sweetest little cat I have known, very chatty, and given to killing my paintbrushes if I don't put them away.
Hooray for Pete the Cat!
