The Cat and the Christmas Tree
Jamie is a shy black cat who spent her first Christmas with the Balcerek family in 2005. Her joy and fascination with their Christmas tree inspired a children's book from Tom Balcerek, father of the family and 27-year steel industry reporter. A neighbor and art school student created the illustrations. Read about the book's creation here. The book is now available through Amazon.com and other retailers. And while we're on the topic, if you are a cat owner, now may be a good time to brush-up on how to cat-proof your Christmas tree . If you don't decorate a tree for the holidays, these tips work for houseplants, too.
